. >> christiane amanpour, our cnn international anchor and the global affairs anchor. thanks. we're getting some news in from cnn's reza sayah right now. he's joining us live from the egypt/gaza border. reza, what are you learning? >> reporter: wolf, obviously we're talking about the possibility of a truce and a cease-fire in the coming hours, about you we just got some emphatic, very loud reminders that the fighting continues. right behind us is the rafah border crossing. about two minutes ago at least three or four huge explosions. we can't independently verify what these explosions are, but we can tell you for the past two days that we've been here, we've heard the incessant buzz of what sound like israeli drones up above and egyptian security forces who are manning the rafah crossing believe these explosions are being caused by israeli drone strikes, wolf. >> when you hear those explosions going off, are the folks running for cover over there where you are, reza? because you're right outside of gaza on the egyptian side i take it. >> reporter: frankly, they're used to it. they may duck, they

the megamillionaire is not a suspect, they want to question him and his response has been bizarre. cnn's martin savidge is in belize with details on a case involving young women, poisoned dogs and bad blood. >> i'm sitting in john mcafee's front yard. i can sit here because this is actually the beach and here in belize, the beach is considered public property. the house back there, the purple and yellow, the lights are on, but nobody's home. it's also in this spot that yesterday, i had an interesting conversation with a young woman who claims to be one of seven of mcafee's lovers. tiffany as she called herself, didn't want to be seen. like mcafee, she fears the police. when was the last time you saw him? >> sunday. around 11:15. >> do you know where he is now? >> no. >> now, a day later, tiffany's gone, too. the only residents left are dogs. and dogs may play a central role in this murder mystery. officials say they're barking and aggressive behavior was a frequent source of friction between mcafee and his neighbor, greg fall, who lived here. last friday, mcafee told police someone poisoned fou

official telling cnn that israel has agreed to the general terms but rejected the timing. hamas conditions, according to an official, are this. stop the air operation, air assaults and want the ground crossings, blockades to be opened up immediately. according to this hamas official israel is saying, okay, we'll stop the air operation but the ground crossings and blockade, we would like to do that gradually. that seems to be the sticking point right now. if you listen to egyptian and hamas officials, some optimism. israeli officials in tel aviv seem to be more cautious when it comes to describing any kind of progress in these talks. >> the rhetoric still coming from egypt is interesting, to say the least. this is a statement from egypt's president. he referred to, quote, the travesty of israel's aggression. not exactly the words of a peace maker. what does that say about the fragility of this cease fire? >> reporter: well, i think we should look beyond rhetoric. what's happening in egypt is interesting. because the public is applying pressure on this post-revolution government led by moham

. instead, the office of the e jimgs president, mohamed morsi, told cnn the egyptian government has no plans to make an announcement tonight. since wednesday of last week militants have fired hundreds of rockets into israel. we're about to bring you one family's harrowing story of dodging the rocket that hit their home today. random attacks like this provoke ferocious air assaults on gaza by the israelis, which also continued today. [ gunfire ] about two hours ago a reuters camera in gaza city caught this explosion. cnn's ben wedeman reports a building near the city was likely hit by an israeli air strike in gaza. he was on live with hala gorani when the explosion happened. take a look. >> i think it's pretty clear that we are moving in the direction of -- [ gunfire ] i can hear shattering glass out there right now. the building just shook of course because i was looking at the camera i didn't see where the blast took place. anybody see it? okay. to the north of this building here. so despite talk of cease fire, hala, it appears that the guns are still firing. >> the gaza ministry of health

in gaza which has been considerable. you've seen that on cnn. and also relieves suffering of the israeli population. second, it does give the israelis an opportunity to see if hamas is credible. if hamas will meet the test of a calm period and in effect hold to a cease-fire and not fire rockets into israel proper much less to a place like jerusalem where hamas tried to attack today. third, it gives secretary clinton time to fly from cambodia, as she's doing now, and to arrive on scene and it may be at secretary clinton will really be the glue that holds this altogether and her presence, especially with the israelis, might give them the confidence to proceed with a formal cease-fire. >> how so? she's meeting with the palestinian authority president abbas, who has nothing to do with hamas, has nothing to do with the gaza strip. and to some people, the west bank, has lost a lot of credibility over the years. >> well, she'll also be meeting with prime minister netanyahu, and he'll be meeting with mohamed morsi of egypt. morsi the key mediator, trying to bring the cease-fire together. of cour

of the director of national intelligence tells cnn that the talking points were changed by the intelligence community. now, congress has launched an investigation after former director david petraeus testified he knew immediately after the september 11th attack in libya that the attack was carried out by terrorists linked to al-qaeda. now, this of course contradicts what we heard from u.s. ambassador to the united nations who said publicly on five sunday talk shows that the attack was spontaneous and sparked by an antimuslim film. the director of the national intelligence office says substantial changes were made before those talking points were sent. but the question still remains who made the changes an why and did anyone in the white house know the full unedited version of events which included that link to al-qaeda? tonight, the state department has no comment, neither does the cia. johnny isaacson is "outfront" tonight. thanks very much for taking the time. as we can report, this is late r reporting here that we have tonight, but the bell jensen community is saying look, we made the ch
